CONTRACT OF HIRE - ROYAL ASCOT 2025

Between: Elizabeth Hughes (Lizzie’s Hats)

Terms and conditions:

Hats can be collected from the conservatory (attached to the house) from Thursday 12th June between the hours of 12-4pm, or 6-8pm. Hats MUST be returned within these hours also, NO LATER than Wednesday 25th June. Any hat returned after this date will incur an automatic fee of £10 per day. Hats that are posted back must be posted securely and insured to the value below.

If hiring by post you MUST be present when the postman attempts delivery, otherwise this will result in your hat not being delivered! Even if no card is left, it is your responsibility to locate that hat (tracking details available upon request). Hats arriving late because of a missed delivery due to you not being present at the time of delivery is YOUR responsibility.

In cases where there is a loss or damage (including rain damage) to the hat, there will be a replacement charge of (see below) charged to the hirer. Hat-boxes must be returned in the condition given, or an extra cost of £15 will incur.

*The hat hire fee is for one wear/ day only. Hats worn or spotted on anyone else other than the hirer will incur the hire fee again and I remain the right to refuse future hires. If you wish to wear the hat a second time, you MUST discuss PRIOR to doing so.

Cancellation of a booking is required no later than 1st June for a full refund (minus £25 consultation fee) to be issued. Notice of any less will result in the full hire amount being charged, however you can swap your hat at any time. If swapping after 1st June, the difference between the hat choice will not be refunded.

Once a hat has been collected/posted, it is considered a hire even if it’s not worn. No matter the circumstances, there will be NO refund. The hat is the sole responsibility of the hirer until it is received back safely.
